The R & B singer Angela Winbush will be seen featuring in the television series “Unsung”. Unsung is a documentary program in which the lives of singers are showcased. The singers who in spite of making a good start to their career could not make it big are given special attention.
Angela Winbush appeared on Monday. She was a well known singer who made her name during the 80s decade. The Saint Louis resident produced a number of hits with Rene Moore, her singing partner. Their band did reach a particular level of stardom and enjoyed some popularity though they soon parted ways and went in different directions in order to pursue their career as solo artists. This however proved to be a poor decision and it completely backfired.
In the series “Unsung”, Angela spoke about her relationship with Rene Moore, her partner; the Isley Brothers and also her devastating decision of taking up a career as a solo artist. She was also heard of speaking about some of the darker days of her personal life in which she had to fight against a stage 3 ovarian cancer and was subjected to chemotherapy for 6 months. She also had a cyst in her breast which had to be operated upon. This was followed by her divorce with her husband Ron Isley, the lead vocalist of the Isley Brothers.
Angela initially was reluctant to feature in “Unsung” and let the world know about her stories. However, finally she agreed and has spoken about all the hardships that she had to face in her life.
