![]() World Trade Center 9/11 With the anniversary of 09/11/01 upon American nation, there are many emotions stirred up among people. Most of them are taking part in memorial efforts that are helping with remembrance and with the healing process. The locations of the events, including the Pentagon and the World Trade Center are locations where large numbers of people demonstrated their support. However, there are many local memorials that occurred as well. For example a moment of silent at 8:46 am and again at 9:03 am to honor the times when the two planes struck the Twin Towers. This observation took place all over the United States. Many parks and facilities were offering gatherings that included music, food, and vendors. The goal was to make sure people had a place where they could share experiences about 09/11 and their emotions. Even the radio stations were offering music that was in support of the events. This is certainly a day that none of us will ever forget, and it is important to continue to show our support as a Nation in order to heal and to show our alliance. The Islamic community continues to be under close scrutiny with the anniversary of 09/11. Many are opposed to them having a location established very close to the World Trade center memorial. The political role in preventing them from doing so is full of red tape. Only time will tell how that is going to play out. Image Credit: |
