In a series on jinxes that brought to mind the build-up to Casino Royale when piles on Aston Martins took a bashing when they plunged to the water in accidents, or suffered a crash, the shooting ofTransformers 3 suffered another setback. Some are calling it the star struck Megan Fox syndrome. The Bumblebee stunt car crashed into a police car in a SUV accident in the latest accident, prior to which Gabriella Cedillo , a 24 year old actress who was a stuntwoman extra on the sets, was reportedly forced to undergo brain surgery. She is now reportedly stable. Cedillo was involved in a crash owing to a cable snap accident. The Bumblebee vehicle crashed into a police car from the Division of Explosives Ordinances, and the impact, from all accounts, was pretty explosive too. The policeman at the steering wheel suffered no serious injuries. Stuntman Cedillo was immediately airlifted to the medical facility of Loyola University, though no reports have been forthcoming from either DreamWorks or Paramount. While celebs have their nails insured for millions, it is deplorable that safe working conditions are not ensured for extras who painstakingly work to conjure death-defying stunts. The area saw a temporary lockdown as Metropolitan Police cordoned the area, adding to the woes of ordinary Joes who were struggling with several street closings to make way for the film crews in town. Filming has been suspended for a while now, with serious injuries being reported, and the shooting has been impounded. Image Credit: |
