32 Million People from United States Watched President Obama’s Speech

Barack ObamaPresident Barack Obama addressed the nation Tuesday night from the Oval Office, trying to reassure the auditors he is in command of this crisis and to attract more support for his efforts to deal with the oil spill. He said that this is the worst environmental disaster America has ever faced. The specialists estimated that the volume of oil leaking every day is between 35,000 and 60,000 barrels.

BP has already recorded possible fines of up to $9 billion, but they are rising each day. President Obama said that the company will have to pay for the consequences of this disaster. He added that the oil spill has caused a sense of sadness and anger that goes much deeper than dollars. The government will focus not only on stopping this disaster but also on restoration by offering additional assistance to affected states.

Obama said it is the time for a nation that became addicted to fossil fuels to make a radical reforming embracing a “clean energy” for the future calling for new solutions that may improve the energetic future of Unites States. His speech comes just ahead of the meeting scheduled on Wednesday in the White House with top BP executives. Vice president Joe Biden will be also present at the discussions.
