40 Million Americans Sinusitis and Chronic Pain

There is nothing more frustrating than having to suffer from chronic pain in silence and be told it is all in your head. However, this may well be true as it is connected to a particular part in your head. The media has made it clear that chronic sinusitis is a condition that well over 40 million Americans suffer from and an often overlooked symptom of this condition is chronic pain. Instead most people with pain that is chronic are diagnosed with depression which also has one as a symptom. 40 Million Americans Sinusitic and Scores Suffering from Chronic Pain Clearing sinus infections is an important step to stop the occurrence of chronic pain. Although it is difficult to clear these infections, experts believe one of the best workable methods to do this is nasal irrigation. Nasal irrigation involves using a neti-pot or other type of irrigator to flush water mixed with salt through the sinuses. Adding sugar xylitol is incredibly effective since xylitol makes it hard for bacteria to ‘stick’ to cells. Xylitol is readily available in many health food outlets as it is commonly used in natural tooth care products.
