The border police of the country are currently involved in perhaps the biggest of all drug busts in the history of the United States after they had discovered drug tunnel, about 600-yard. It was a major part of tons of pot transport, a very sophisticated operation linking Mexico and California’s Southern area, as authorities reported. 600-Yard Drug Tunnel Linking San Diego and Mexico In the drug tunnel was a rail system that was dully equipped with air vents, lighting, that was as long as six major football fields. The border and custom protection US authorities said that the tunnel started from a Tijuana’s warehouses to the San Diego’s Otay Mesa location. The authorities discovered the drug tunnel this week after making a huge seizure of marijuana, about thirty tons, valued at $20 Million by cops. U.S. Custom and Immigration Enforcement Agency director, John Morton, explained that the massive stash and the tunnel were dully linked to drug cartels in Mexico, although it was hardly clear which. Morton said that it was not just a small operation but also a clear part of organized crime and at its best, the work of cartels. The drug gangs have been brutal of late, waging drug wars that were clearly bloody along the border with Mexico, a war that has had 30,000 individuals massacred since 2006. The officials explained that the bust had commenced on the night of Tuesday Nov 2, after the federal agents in the area had seen a tractor-trailer that seemed suspicious enough leaving the warehouse in San Diego. They had then called Highway Patrol, where the California police had brought the rig to a halt and 10 tons of marijuana found within the trailer.
