![]() ACCUWEATHER: HURRICANE EARL IS DEAD Reports published by Accuweather in the Internet have mentioned that the Hurricane Earl is no more a hurricane and has weakened down to just another tropical storm. Experts are expecting that it will get weakened further by tonight. High waves and strong winds are now expected to thrash on areas from the New Jersey coast to Long Island and also southern part of England. Earl in fact attacked the Caribbean Islands when it was at its peak. Accuweather.com has stated that the islands which are worst affected include Antigua, Barbuda, Anguilla and St. Martin. Huge downpours due to Earl have seen flash flooding and roofs of homes getting torn off. But Earl’s impact in the USA was not much as when it reached there, it has already subsided to be a category 2 hurricane. Manteo, North Carolina recorded a wind gust of 70 mph and tore off the canopy of a gas station completely. Cape Hatteras experienced around 4.52 inches of rain. The coastal waves became rough and bigger and washed out many beaches approaching the beach homes and the adjoining roadways. Accuweather reports suggest that England has witnessed many downed trees and roadways which are completely flooded. By Saturday morning 10 am, the hurricane subsided to a tropical storm near Western Head in Nova Scotia. High and strong winds that blew through Nova Scotia and Prince Edwards Island have made power cuts in homes of around 150,000 customers in these places. Image Credit: |
