ACCWEATHER HURRICANE EARL

Report given by AccuWeather has suggested that Hurricane Earl is moving towards the East Coast on Wednesday and Governors of the states of Virginia and North Carolina have declared a state of emergency as they are preparing for a worst possible scenario. The report informed that since the center of the Earl is passing within 100 miles of the east of Hatteras, there will be some serious repercussions on the coastal areas.

Senior Meteorologist Frank Strait from Accuweather has also mentioned that waves will be 18 to 20 feet high and there may be flooding along the coastal areas. Emergency officials have asked the people staying along the east coast to make appropriate plans for disaster and keep all supplies ready. Around 80 troops have been deployed by the North Carolina National Guard and they are ready for action if the Earl hits directly on the coast. The Governor of the state has asked for a federal emergency declaration anticipating serious damages to the people of the affected areas.

People have been asked to evacuate in the Hatteras and Ocracoke islands along the Outer Banks. Vacationers in the North Carolina are packing up their cars and fleeing the island just a day before the hurricane is expected to crash on the islands.

Earl is a very strong category 4 hurricane whose center is more than 700 miles south east of Cape Hatteras in North Carolina and the storm is blowing at a speed of 135 miles per hour, according to Accuweather reports.
