After Elections Nothing Changed

The Midterm elections have left a divided Congress and as usual voters have stormed different media platforms to have their views heard on what happens over the next two years. Elections Aftermath Brings No Change It is no doubt that most people were tired of the campaigns which dominated the entire media. The fact remains that the fears of having busy representatives and few or no achievement lingers in most Americans. According to many the next two years are going to be no different. The best example is that, there has been a lot of hype on how the Republicans have made huge gains in the House of Representatives and the Senate but the fact remains that Americans have a Democratic President. Well that may not ring a bell, but the President has the power to veto any bill. The hard bit of raising a two third majority from both houses to override his power is next to impossible. Change simply hit a dead end, period. The Committee on Oversight and Government Reforms, led by Republicans, will launch investigations on the undoing of the current administration. This will be done not to get any wrong doings but to discredit the president in the next general elections. This happened to President Clinton in the 1990s, result, waste of taxpayers’ money in acrimonious investigations. The result will not be different this time round! Believe this or not, politicians are very “interesting creatures”. It seems as though it was yesterday when the incumbent president took office and he seems to be preparing for the next elections, it is just a matter of time before the currently elected officials start doing the same. Just wonder when they will start doing what took them to their offices in the first place. The more things change the more they remain the same; it is all a merry go round. |
