The American Music Awards for the year 2010 was held in downtown Los Angeles at the Nokia live theatre on November 21st, Sunday. For those of who could not make it to the venue the show was telecast live on ABC. It was a stunning event which brought together some of the most renowned names of music together for the evening. The evening saw some stunning performance and some very gorgeous looking people stunningly dressed in their favourite attire. Some fans find it disturbing that the AMA is turning into a pop event. Pink, Ke$ha Bon Jovi, Usher along with many other popular artists performed and kept the audience on their feet. The most splendid performance of the evening was undoubtedly teenage prodigy Justin Bieber, who performed on the stimulatingly influential song PRAY. The event stared with a performance from Rihanna with numbers like “Love the way you lie” and “What’s my name”. The most successful winner this year was Justin Bieber, who bagged four awards including, “artist of the year” and T-Mobile “breakthrough artist”. Usher lost two of his awards to Bieber. Instead of expressing his disappointment, he spoke very highly about the talented young singer. In his award acceptance speech, Bieber recognised Usher as his mentor and guide which instantly struck a chord with Usher. Eminem won the best hip-hop artist of the year and Lady GaGa won the favourite pop/ rock artist of the year. Other major winners for the evening were Usher for favourite soul/R&B artist, Lady Antebellum for best country Group. ”Black Eyed Peas” for best pop/rock group and “Muse” for best alternative rock group.
