New JobsLast month in the U.S. 162,000 workers were hired. Unemployment rates stayed at 9.7%. This is according to a report released by the Department of Labor.

The job increases are the largest in three years. The Census Bureau contributed to 48,000 of them, but they did not hire as many as previously planned. Mostly the private sector showed the biggest increase.

The Bureau is hiring at least a million temporary workers this year. These are based on figures from March.

Besides the Bureau hiring last month, there were jobs added in the fields of construction, manufacturing, mining, and health care. With February’s bad weather, the companies may have been given a boost in March.

The financial industry lost 21,000 in the past month. There are still currently an estimated fifteen million people still looking for work in this country. Headhunters are reporting that few are hiring.

But, what is astounding is corporations have over one and half billion dollars in cash savings according to Economic Analysis! That is a record amount with the economy in the slumps. As America continues to slowly recover, only time will tell.
