Aravane Rezai from France will be meeting Williams in the final match as her final opponent Safarova had to retire from an injury losing by 6-1. The player from the Czech Republic played in the opener after twenty-three minutes of play but injured his hamstring and had to pull out. This gives Rezai a place in her second time being in the tournament. On Monday Williams will now be number two on the world rankings regardless what happens. For the first time she has finally reached the final and now she will be vying to win the third title of the year along with her 44th of her career. In 2010 this is the fourth final in six events for Williams. She was currently number three in the world standings. Image Credit: |
