MeteorThreats to the Hubble and International Space Station due to a meteor storm are being very closely watched by NASA. There is to be a 7 hour display of various debris from the comet. It is feared that these materials could result in the electronic devices being severely damaged or destroyed. The fact that this event will create a spectacular view for those that like to gaze at the stars isn’t as exciting for NASA due to the grim facts about what could happen to the equipment.

According to NASA, such a storm isn’t unusual. In fact, it is one that crosses the orbit of the Earth each year in October. Such meteor showers are known as Draconids, due to the fact that they come from the star constellation called Draco. However, it is predicted that the storm coming will be worse than it has been in the past.

The goal of NASA is to watch and find out what the extent of the storm brings. In the mean time they have a team of exerts that will be ready to go up in a spaceship and make repairs to the electronics. Another idea NASA is considering involves changing the positioning of the space station to make it less vulnerable to the damages.
