The Kentucky Senate race between the Republican’s candidate ophthalmologist Rand Paul and the Democratic candidate Attorney General Jack Conway heated up last night when the two met for the fourth of the five scheduled debates between the candidates. Rand Paul was agitated at the mentioning of the worship of the “Aqua Buddha” by Conway.
Reports had already popped up of Paul being linked to a secret society named NoZe Brotherhood when he was a student at Baylor University which mocked Christianity. Rumours say they had even “kidnapped” a woman and tried to enforce her to take drugs along with them. The woman had come out in the open and said she was told blindfolded and was told to bow down and worship ‘Aqua Buddha’.
The debate was marked by pricking conversations like these, but Conway held his position. In the debate, Conway repeatedly began to ask Paul questions about this incident and his voluntary involvement with this group. He even asked why would Paul confine a woman for his personal satisfaction and even referred to Aqua Buddha as a false idol of worship. Paul refused to answer any of the questions and did not even shake Conway’s hand when the debate was over.
Paul termed Conway’s actions as a “disgrace” that should disqualify him from the elections. He questioned Conway’s decency and even accused him of trying to attack a man’s religious beliefs in order to gain power and make it a political issue.
The Kentucky elections are slated to be held on November 2.
