Artic Sun 5000 is cleared by the FDA

The FDA has give 510k clearance to Medivance for its newest temperature management device, Artic Sun 5000. This device will be one of the best on the market for accessing treatment data, initiating treatment, and have very simple programming capabilities. The Artic Sun is a next generation of therapeutic temperature management devices which is also non invasive. This device is used worldwide for precision, simplicity, and safety. This is usually the device most hospitals favor over others. With this device being more advanced, more patients that are critical will not have severe brain damage as this is non invasive. The new features of the Artic Sun will be: A screen to help with explanations for any alerts that pop up. It will break every thing down into simple explanations and a touch screen will now be provided. Training that is embedded and added safety features such as visual and voice prompts. With the push of a button, hospital protocols will be pre-programmed for rapid induction of controlling the temperature and more efficient cooling will be provided. Also, rewarming will automatically be initiated. During patient transfers, data will be stored along with being able to track the patient for up to six hours and their progress and at any given time, ten cases can be downloaded from a device memory to analysis or research data. |
