Athletic Propulsion Labs shoes have been crafted with the objective of making the user to reach a height more than usual. This shoe having a price of $300 has a spring based system implemented in it which is used to increase the elevation of the jumper. The spring loading system is deployed in the heel and forefoot when a 150-page patent was made use of and propels the user closer to dunking a basketball.
Adam and Ryan Goldston, twins and former USC basketball walk-ons founded this company in Los Angeles, learning the skills from their father. Their father had been an expert in the shoe industry being the former head designer of Reebok. The shoe has been an instant hit among the NBA rookies. About 30% of the rookies have ordered this shoe. The duo also claimed they had disallowed several players from buying this since they have been endorsing other companies.
The NBA however have banned the use of the Concept 1 shoe as they do not want players to wear any such shoe which will give them an unfair advantage over the others. This incident had previously occurred with the original Air Jordan 1 shoe which like the Athletic Propulsion Labs sneaker was banned by the NBA. However the two brothers have proved their credibility by presenting reports of how the user can get an extra lift with the help of the shoes. But this extra elevation led the NBA to ban it from the league.
