Autumn de Forest, is the 8 year old painting prodigy who was showcased on the Today show. The young artist showed off some of her works to Matt Lauer on the show thereby dazzling the art world with her masterpieces. Autumn’s gift was identified by her parents at the age of 4 and they knew about her artistic talent. They decided to buy her paints of museum quality and canvases to carry on her work. Gradually the size of the canvases increased with some of them being larger than her. Great artists like Picasso, Warhol and Dali were the inspirations of Autumn. Her paintings are also commercially very profitable as they are sold at high prices. Her works have fetched her total of around $250,000, with one painting named People Are Strange being sold for a whopping $25,000. Her father, Doug de Forest confirmed that her annual art collection exceeds $200,000. She has also signed a multi-year deal of publishing art. The picture titled “Sunrise” posted last year helped her grow in stature and she grew famous. The money that she gets by painting is saved for her education in college or the art school. Autumn says she is fond of painting and likes to do it as often as she can and tries to create the best every time that she starts doing it. She says people are willing to pay for her paintings because it is for her education and not for a luxurious lifestyle for which audiences would not have paid. |
