Bishop Eddie Long Private Penthouse Office, No Media Allowed at Sunday Service

Reports have started appearing that Bishop Eddie Long does have a hideaway private office in Atlanta, a place where he has been meeting young male church members. Eddie Long has become the latest hot topic on twitter in the last couple of hours, with hundreds of tweets being related to the embattled bishop. There has also been a lot of interest on the Bishop, with so many people believed to be on their way to his church to see him step down. Dark Times Ahead for Bishop Long? The media has also been warned that they won’t be allowed at the Bishop’s early service, announced on Saturday night. The bishop is awaited to address the congregation. There have been photos of the Bishop from his Atlanta private penthouse, where the photos expressly show him in meetings with different young men, all from his congregation. Employees from the penthouse in the Atlantic Station Complex, as well as residents have cited the fact that most of the Bishop’s visitors to the office are mostly “young men.” However, it is not clear when the photos from the Bishop’s office were taken. By 11am at the Sunday service, Bishop Long is expected to address the legal drama as well as sex scandal that have embroiled him all week. This might have been the reasons the pastor has decided not to allow media of any sort in the service. New Birth Baptist Church streams its services online but this time round the 11am service will not. In addition, the media has reported that the Bishop will also be giving a press conference slightly after the service, although no question will be allowed. Image Credit: |
I JUST FEEL SO BAD THESE DAYS ….I MEAN… ALL I WANNA SAY IS THAT EVEN IF ITS NOT TRUE!!!…THE BISHOP WILL BE SCORNED FOR LIFE..AND THAT WOULD STILL BE WORST THAN IF IT ACTUALLY HAPPENED..I DO DAYLY PRAY FOR THE CHURCH…NOT THE BUILDINGS… BUT THE CHURCH…GODS PEOPLE

This is really sad. The ministers (cited in the young men’s complaint) who knew Long was up to something but CHOSE to keep their job over the souls of these young men is pitiful. The pictures of the young men show that they were attractive and even shared some physical similarities. I do not know if Long thinks we are stupid but he is going to learn a valuable lesson here. The lesson is that no man is above reproach. Having been subjected to childhood sexual abuse, I hold Long and his ministers responsible for souls of these young black men. I remember all too well, the gifts, the extra attention, the sickness in my belly, the unwanted kisses, the turmoil in my spirit and the yearning for love. Why would these young men deliberately falsely accuse Long when all they would experience is humiliation and be ousted from their church family. Too often we allow our own selfish gain and/or status quo to dictate our actions. Choosing this only results in lost souls floundering about in the presence of many who claim they love God. Yet they consciously CHOOSE to look the other way. I pray for these young men as they work to heal and I APPLAUD their courageous spirit that led them to come forth and speak the TRUTH.
