In yesterday’s race in Montreal, Canada, Boris Said won the Nationwide Race at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. He just beat Max Papis by a nose in a very eventful race with a bunch of spectacular crashes. Mr. Said used to work for Nascar drivers mastering road courses around the world. Now, he has taken all these years of experience and helped to cross the finish line. It was a deja vu moment when just last year, Marcos Ambrose was in the lead on the final lap when Carl Edwards passed him on the final turn to win. This time, Papis was in the lead for just a few seconds when Said passed him. Once he got past him, it was smooth sailing. Papis was driving #33 Kevin Harvick’s car. It was so close that it was timed at .012 seconds! This was the closest since Homestead in 1998 and the all time fifth lowest ever. This is Said’s first win in twenty-two races Nationwide and only his second win for Nascar. This also includes the top three Nascar series and one hundred twenty-seven former starts. He did win a race in Sonoma for truck racing in 1998. Image Credit: |
