The New Jersey Nets are said to be locked in talks to get the signature of Carmelo Anthony, after luring Chris Bosh, Dwyane Wade and LeBron James to the Nets was unsuccessful. Unconfirmed reports say that talks about getting the Denver Nuggets forward were underway, but not much was expected by the 24.

The big basketball news is that Carmelo Anthony could be joining the New Jersey Nets and seemingly awaits the final decision to come from the Nuggets, whether they will allow the basketball star to move.

It is believed Anthony will definitely take and sign the offered three year deal $65 million worth extension that are left in Denver in the remaining part of summer in case he Joins the Nets. The price for the forward is deemed steep. In addition, the Nuggets are said to be looking for the powerful forward and third in the overall draft, Derrick Favors, as well as the 2012 first round protected pick the New Jersey Nets got from the Golden State.

There are other teams involved in the trade, such as the Charlotte Bobcats and Utah Jazz, with reports suggesting the Bobcats might get Devin Harris, the All-Star guard from the hands of the Nets.

Other series of moves in the NBA would see Charlotte sending to the Jazz their forward, Boris Diaw and the Jazz would in turn send to the Nuggets their forward, Andrei Kirilenko. In addition, if this takes place, the Nets could also have D.J Augustin, the point guard from Bobcats.

The deals would only take place if Carmelo Anthony signs the extension.
