NBA Lockout Next Year Almost Certain by Players’ Union

The deadlock remains but the parties made only one agreement; to meet in month’s time. The owners have maintained their stand on salary cuts, contract lengths, annual raises and rookie salaries.
The negotiations have taken more than a year and an end seems to be far away as no major breakthrough has been achieved. The league wants the players to have their salaries slashed but the players are saying no.
The salary cuts the players argue are too big and unfair as it has a cup. The current system has no cup …

NBC Sports Online most Favorite

This is replicated in the facility’s purchases, NBC Sports Talk app, that has led in the free sports list. The application is so easy to use and as it has tried to avoid the complications in …

NFL Power Rankings

Tuesdays usually decide the NFL power rankings. There are 24 teams to go including Miami. The
better teams in the competition are New England, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Green Bay, Jets etc. who are
cruising through to the top. It is difficult to believe that one of the weaker teams like Tampa bay or
Oakland will give stiff competition to its spearhead counterparts.
This week Arizona Cardinals were defeated by Kansas City Chiefs. This win will ensure that the
Kansas team climb back to their customary position of ranking between 12 and 15. The City Chiefs
came into …

Terry Collins: A Manager To Push The Mets In The Right Direction

Terry Collins is ready to take up the two year contract with the Mets. The Mets will welcome him on
Tuesday as their manager. The 41 year old is expected to bring back some discipline into the team.
Collins is a man of excellence. He is not the one who will sit back to be just a puppet. He would rather
hit the switch and stay nowhere near mediocrity. Team managers are not of much influence and are
majorly the spokesperson. Collins prefers to push the players and let their game speak. Mets fans …

Loans to Players Raises Eyebrows

The Major League baseball Players Association is questioning the loans offered by the company of Scott
Boras. People close to Boras said that the payments have violated the tenets of the union.
The company has been providing huge amount of loans to not so well off people. Mostly benefiting
are the young Dominican players. The union sees to the agents and curbs any such transactions. It
believes this type of loans ensures a financial security and binds the players to such treaties. The loan
obliges the players to the agents and therefore allows the agent …

Edwards and Holmes are making headlines for the right reason

The Jets picked up Braylon Edwards and Santonio Holmes for a reason and both the receivers delivered.
The Jets won the match against Houston and went to a new high of 8-2. Major contributions came from
the pair.
Edwards previously played for Cleveland. In the 2009 season, he was exchanged with two players Chansi
Stuckey and Jason Trusnik. Meanwhile the Jets acquired Holmes who used to play for Pittsburgh, for a
selection in the fifth round. Both the players fared pretty badly at the beginning of this season. Edwards
was suspiciously arrested for driving under influence. …

A soccer talent burning too brightly too young

The “American Pele” is now struggling to get into a team and play some soccer. Freddy Adu is at present
registered with the F.C Randers, that too just for training purpose. Freddy rose to prominence with the
D.C United at the age of 14, but could hold on to it for long enough. The 21 year old is now waiting for
another breakthrough.
Freddy comes from the city of Tema. His mother won a certain lottery and moved over to Maryland.
From the age of 8, Freddy was noted as a street player. When the …

Hamilton wins A.L Most Valuable Player Award

A .359 batting average made Josh Hamilton the American League’s Most Valuable Player. Second to
stand was Miguel Cabrera of Detroit and Yankees’ Robinson Cano made it to the third place. Cano was
followed by Jose Bautista of Toronto. He finished fourth.
Of the 28 first place votes, Hamilton had 22 ballots. Cabrera collected 5 of the vote sand Bautista got the
remaining one vote. All the position holders were apt for the award, but to see the contribution coming
from Hamilton, no one could be as valuable as him. He secured a .359 batting …

Vikings’ and Titans’ troubles mount

The Vikings and the Titans are in for a war. Not a gruesome sword battle, but a fight for the “uglier”
team tag. Be it the firing of Coach Brad Childress or tantrums coming from Vince Young, the infernos
have matched their shoulders.
On Monday, the Viking did away with their coach after a dreadful home loss. The move would have
been of some significance if he would have been fired a few weeks ago. Along with the coach, off
went the issue of Brett Favre and nothing was left of Randy Moss’s credibility. Childress …
