Double joy for Celine Dion and Rene Angelil!!!
The celebrity singer gave birth to twin boys on Saturday morning in West Palm Beach, Fla. via C – section. They already have a son Rene – Charles who is 9 years old.
No names had been decided yet, as reported by People.com. The couple is expected to decide the names of the babies once their mother gets up. The whole family was very excited by the news, including Rene – Charles who came to the hospital to visit his new born brothers.
Dion’s new sons had weights of 5 lbs., 10 oz., and 5 lbs., and 4 oz. The sons were reported to be in healthy condition although were premature. The new babies will spend a few days in neonatal intensive care, a common method used for newborn twins who have arrived prematurely before the due date.
Dr. Ronald Ackerman, Dion’s long-time obstetrician at St. Mary’s Medical Center was assisted by his son Dr. Joshua Ackerman in the delivery. The doctor explained the surgery to deliver the babies had gone as expected. The first baby was born at 11:11 am while the second birth took place a minute later at 11:12 am. Both the babies were reported to be born with a “good amount” of hair.
Celine Dion, the 42 year old “My Heart will Go On” star had been in the news for a long time now about her struggle to conceive. She had revealed in the month of May about being pregnant. This was after she had already made her sixth attempt at in-vitro fertilization.
