Chavez to seize golf courses, so try the Apple app

Golf courses have been hot property in the newshubs, with Venezuelan Prez Hugo Chavez berating golf courses as a filthy super-rich luxury, a lush expanse for teeing off and sipping wine in a neighbourhood that might have starving kids. The Marxist Prez has raised the hackles of golf aficionados by saying on ‘Alo, President’, the cable show that he would seize golf courses that nurture a bourgeoisie fad.

The other golf course in the news apart from the benighted Venezuelan ones was the venerable municipal golf course in San Francisco, which is all set to be renamed as TPC Harding golf course.

If you are a Venezuelan who loves to tee off, you need not fume. Take solace in the Apple World Golf Courses app on your iPhone so that you can locate and set off for the nearest golf course that has not yet been closed down by Chavez as a vice den.

The Apple World Golf Courses app is a boon for the jetsetting set who are ardent golfers. Even when you are on a business trip, the app locates teeing zones by scouting 10,000 golf courses over the world. Locales include USA and Canada, UK, New Zealand and Australia but are set to extend globally in the future for a wider reach.

Download the app from iTunes for $2. As for those who are neighbours of Prez Hugo Chavez in Venezuela, just help out with a good cause and get a snazzy virtual mini-golf series game instead.
