Lovers of art have been invited to a fundraiser for a good cause, in Pinal County on 2010 November on the 6 and 7. It will be at Basha’s Market Place in Gold Canyon, Superstition Mountain Doctor, dubbed Pinal County Office of the Sheriff and Sabine’s Festival for Fundraising Fine Art Show. The event is unique and highlights much priced local artist’s original pieces of fine art, aimed to benefit the Patrol Program of Pinal County Citizens.
COP or Citizens on Patrol is a volunteer community organized group, where the members are screened, trained and backgrounds checked by law enforcement of their local agency and patrol around their own communities, being the “Eyes and Ears” for the law enforcement. COP has been in operation in the United States for more than two decades. The national association of COP puts the volunteers in the programs to be more than 75,000, where there is a group in every state across the country. COP volunteers patrolling their own communities regularly, familiar with respective communities they come from are able to recognize any activity that seems suspicious and then notify the office of the Sheriff. The fine art show, taking place for two days, features great and original pieces of work from around the state, such as Cindi Mapes and Fleetwood Johnson’s works. In 2009, Sabine was able to host in Gold Canyon a Fine Art Show to fundraise, helping the COP and PCSO to raise more than $3000. Image Credit: |
