Katy Perry: Not Appearing on Sesame Street

Cleavage has cost Katy Perry Sesame Street appearance. Katy’s duet performance with Elmo, shown online, was so controversial concerning her cleavage such that, producers made the decision not to have the segment in their broadcast.

Viewers had objected about Katy Perry’s show of too much body cleavage, as much as the ‘Hot N Cold’ song had been cleared for all audience, including children.

Sesame Street: 41'st Season Premier on September 27

In a statement released on Thursday, the producers insisted that “Sesame Street has always been written…for the child and adult.” As for the reason to have celebrities in the show, the statement elaborated that celebrity segments are generally “to interest adults in the show…children learn best when co-viewing with a parent or care-giver.”

As the 41st season premier draws near without Katy Perry Sesame Street appearance, the show has of late been trying to maintain relevancy in the modern popular culture. This includes upcoming guest appearance by Colin Farrell in the new Sesame Street season.

In the statement, it s clear who reinforced the decision to cut shot Katy Perry Sesame Street appearance, since it explained that they “value…viewers opinions and particularly those of parents. In light of the feedback we have received on the Katy Perry music video, which was released on You Tube, we have decided we will not air the segment on the television broadcast…aimed at preschoolers.”

However, Katy Perry fans can still watch her video on You Tube as the upcoming 41’st season is set to premier on PBS on the 27 of September.
