Cody Zeller was ranked at the no. 16 spot as the basketball prospect of high school in the class of 2011 by Scout.com. The forward had graduated from Washington High School in Washington, Indiana. The 6 foot 9 forward announced his decision to stay at his native face and committed his future to University of Indiana where he will continue his basketball future.
The ultimate choice was between North Carolina, Purdue and Indiana but eventually he chose his home state. He said his personal choice of “the players and the coaches” of Indiana helped him take such a decision. Thus he committed his future to the Hoosiers.
Cody Zeller is considered to be among the top 20 best basketball senior players in the country. He was the last player from the rank of top 25 on Scout.com’s list who was not committed. Also, he is the third among his brothers who will be playing basketball for a college. Before him, his oldest brother, Luke played for Notre Dam while another brother, Tyler plays for the North Carolina team and is a junior there. Both of Cody’s brothers have been the recipients of the Indianapolis Star Indiana Mr. Basketball awards.
Apart from Cody Zeller, Indiana is also privileged to have with them, the 17th ranked player in the country to be playing for them, Austin Etherington. Austin is a four star prospect and his also the AAU teammate of Cody. Thus Cody’s hopes of having a good team and a good future are unlikely to be dashed.
