Colorado Medical Marijuana shall soon witness a zonal restriction owing to a new proposal from the Planning Commission. Reportedly, the Planning Commission has plans in store to derive and hence determine the exact percentage of Colorado medical marijuana business violating the city’s land usage policy.
Sources close to the Planning Commission told the media that if Colorado Medical Marijuana business is held responsible for violating the city’s land usage policies then over 40 business houses shall have to roll down their shutters. The city’s Planning Commission officials have reported that more than 200 pre-schools and eight colleges were considered under the old mapping area that was being used for Colorado medical marijuana business. However, with the new city mapping area coming under direct effect in a few days, the Planning Commission feels the urgency of a buffer zone which they feel should exist between an educational institution and a Colorado medical marijuana center. The length of the area is somewhere between 400 feet to 1,000 feet.

Tanya Garduno who happens to be the director of the Colorado Springs Medical Cannabis Council, told the media that if the proposed land use regulations comes into effect then it might turn out to be a serious disaster for many people in the same business. He also underlined the fact that up till now there has been no chaos in maintaining the 400 feet buffer but when the additional 600 feet is added things might turn out to be different.
