Vatican MuseumOn Saturday, The Vatican is praising the announcement this week scientists has created the very first synthetic cell. They called it “very interesting” which eventually might help cure diseases.

They are saying that the scientists did not create life but simply replaced one of several motors to make that happen. L’Osservatore Romano the Vatican newspaper, wrote on Saturday that the high quality engineering and important research with results is not to be underestimated with manipulating matters such as this.

The Vatican does not oppose this kind of research since it stays clear of cloning, stem cells, or anything else on the matter of human life. They are saying for the scientists to be very careful in their research. On Thursday, Craig Venter, a genetics pioneer, announced the genetics team had created the first artificial life in the world. Mr. Venter runs genome research at the US Institute.

The team, using a computer, used a sequence of code by using a completed bacterium DNA and putting it into a bacteria’s cell. The cell self replicated being controllled only by the genome. Mr. Ventor is stating his team not create life. The team made a brand new cell that is alive but life was not created.

This discovery would give science new ways to do things. From creating new foods to converting carbons into fuels, to creating new medicines for diseases. This breakthrough will spark debates and discussions about the possibilities. The team’s next goal is to try for a cure of one of many diseases.
