The New York Yankees – Best Paid World-Wide Team

According to a review of global sports salaries to be published Friday the New York Yankees are the best-paid team in world sports. This is measured by average pay. They were ahead of Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Chelsea. The Dallas Mavericks of basketball’s NBA is in fifth place.
The review covers 211 teams. The NBA came in second with cricket’s IPL coming in third. In fourth place is the MLB and the Premier League evenly tied.

Stelmach Wants to Improve Public Health Minimizing the Sport and Recreation Budget

Alberta’s Premier, Ed Stelmach, is looking for a new sport policy designed to improve health conditions and reverse the obesity trends even if his cabinet is cutting the budget for these areas by almost 40%. Flights Cancelled In Europe Due to Volcanic Ash

In Europe today, flights were cancelled by the thousands due to a huge volcanic ash cloud moving across the continent. Along with flights being cancelled airspace was restricted or closed. On Friday Eurocontrol stated in parts of Europe especially central and north and England were still closed due to the volcanic ash. That is about two-thirds of Europe.

Governor Rendell Says Federal Recovery Act-Funded Rebates Will Make Energy-Efficient Home Heating Equipment More Affordable.
