$1.2 million Paid for Lyrics of Lennon at Recent Auction

The handwritten lyrics by John Lennon for “A Day in the Life” that the Beatles recorded recently sold for $1.2 million at an auction. This is a track from the Sgt Pepper album that was released in 1967. This price for the lyrics was well beyond what was anticipated, with a top guess of $800,000.

Kevin Costner’s Machines have been Purchased for the Gulf Oil Spill Cleanup

Kevin Costner is a well known Hollywood star, but he has plenty to offer for the Gulf oil spill cleanup efforts. The Chief Operating Officer of BP, Doug Suttles, has confirmed the purchase of 32 oil/water separation machines from Costner. It is believed these machines will be a benefit to cleaning up the oil spill in less time. The name of Costner’s company is Ocean Therapy Solutions.

New Type of Windows may Generate Billions in National Energy Savings

Over $6.5 million in grants from federal money were funded this week in Michigan. Almost 44 percent of this money was allocated for a company located in Midland, Dow Chemical Corporation. They received $2.9 million for their project.
