South Africa and France exited the World Cup after their match on June 22. South Africa is the first host team in World Cup history not to advance beyond the first round, despite their last victory.

The London Telegraph has reported General Stanley McChrystal has submitted his resignation to the White House. He plans to retire according to the comments McChrystal has made. He recently spoke to Rolling Stone Magazine. During that interview he criticized both his own boss and the entire Obama administration for insubordination. Many speculate that President Obama pressured McCrystal to resign/retire after such comments were made.
