2017 Rotary International Convention will be Held in Atlanta Georgia

Atlanta Georgia successfully won their bid to host the 2017 Rotary International Convention. It is believed that from June 10 through June 14 of 2017 more than 30,000 Rotarians will attend from around the world. They will be attending sessions at the Georgia World Congress Center. The economy in that area will be significantly increased due to this event. It is estimated that approximately 41,000 hotel rooms will be booked, most for an average of 10 days.
This is a huge benefit for the Atlanta area to celebrate. They worked hard …

June 21 – 22 was the Shortest Night of the Year

The first day of summer in the Northern Hemisphere was June 21st which was the longest day of the year. This also marks the first day of winter in the Southern Hemisphere. In order for that to occur, June 21 -22 was the shortest night of the year. The relationship that our planet has with the sun is complex.

No Survivors was Found in the Plane Crashed in West Africa

Search teams using a helicopter found the crashed private CASA C212 prop plane at Dima, inside Republic of Congo, in dense jungle. The plane was carrying 11 people from Australia, France, Great Britain and United States, but unfortunately, there were no survivors.

July 6th Meeting set for Obama & Netanyahu about Gaza Agenda

The upcoming meeting of United States President Barack Obama and the Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu is a step in the right direction. The two will be meeting on July 6th to discuss Gaza and the next steps to take. Obama has been accepting of the rules Israel has for the embargo of the land. New Reports of World Health Organization about H1N1 Influenza

One year after swine flu was declared a pandemic, the World Health Organization reported that it caused at least 18,156 deaths. In April 2009 the WHO’s director, Margaret Chan, declared a public health emergency of international concern when the first 2 cases were reported in the United States. After a few more days they were followed by hundreds of similar situations in Mexico.

The Greatest Royal Wedding of this Century

In noble and excitement fanfare, last Saturday Sweden’s Princess Victoria married commoner Daniel Westling in the greatest royal wedding since Charles and Diana. The radiant 32-year-old daughter of King Carl Gustav and Queen Silvia walked down the aisle on the arm of the king. More than 1,100 guests were present in the church at the Sweden’s first royal wedding since 1976 and more than 500 were invited to the Royal Castle for the dinner.

Most of the European Teams had a Bad Start in South Africa

The Europe’s soccer giants appeared to be completely losing it at the World Cup. The World Vice Champion which is France made a tie with Uruguay and lost with Mexico (0-2). Germany lost with Serbia and Italy, the World Champion, has no victory after two games with Paraguay and New Zealand. England is in a similar situation after two ties with the United States and Algeria, Portugal tied (0-0) with Cote d’Ivoire,  while Spain, the first favorite of the competition lost with 0-2 its game with Switzerland.

$1.2 million Paid for Lyrics of Lennon at Recent Auction

The handwritten lyrics by John Lennon for “A Day in the Life” that the Beatles recorded recently sold for $1.2 million at an auction. This is a track from the Sgt Pepper album that was released in 1967. This price for the lyrics was well beyond what was anticipated, with a top guess of $800,000.
The lyrics are on two sides of paper and also have various edits and corrections that Lennon placed on the written materials. There are lyrics on the paper that were never used, and it shows the …
