Last News About the 32nd San Francisco Marathon

An estimated 24,000 runners are expected to participate in the various events of the 2010 San Francisco Marathon edition. In the last years SF Marathon included a full marathon, two half marathons, and a 5000 meters race, but this year the organizers are introducing in addition a Munchkin Kids Fun Run, with three different races: 1 mile, 0.5 mile and the 100 yard dash.

Passion Week is Ending for Rick Warren, but Firestick Plant’s Morals Continue

After a very difficult week, Rick Warren is now at home and he hopes to have an easier day. Pastor Warren is expected to fully recover from injuries he suffered Monday when he was working in his yard. His publicist says that one of the preacher’s favorite ways to relax was gardening, but that time he accidentally wiped the milky white sap of a firestick plant into his eyes when he removed the gloves. Google Wants to Help the Planet, Investing in Wind Energy

Google has signed a 20-year renewable power purchase agreement with wind farm NextEra Energy Resources. The search giant has announced on its blog that the deal includes 114 megawatts of wind power generated by the wind project developer, which is enough to supply several energy centers for Google. The green energy will be provided at a predetermined rate, starting with July 30.
Google planned three years ago to reduce its carbon footprint, becoming carbon neutral and this contract will allow the developer enough financial security help to expand renewable energies, …

Innkeepers USA Trust Filed for Bankruptcy Protection in New York

Innkeepers USA Trust announced that it has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in New York, leaving real-estate entities for one of its biggest creditors – Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc.

New Hopes for Scientists Trying to Prevent Malaria Infection Among People

Less than three months after the World Malaria Day, a group of scientists have announced that they have engineered a mosquito that is completely immune to malaria. The mosquitoes were designed by Dr. Michael Riehle and his colleagues at the University of Arizona’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.

Obama to Attend Groundbreaking where Electric Vehicle Batteries will be made

President Obama will be in attendance for the groundbreaking ceremony in Holland, Michigan. The Compact Power Inc. factory will be creating electric vehicle batteries. They have been approved for a grant of $151 million to make them. More than 300 people will gain jobs due to this endeavor.
