HURRICANE PAULA 2010 GATHERS STRENGTH

The tropical storm named Paula strengthened to take the form of a hurricane on Tuesday as it approached the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico as reported by the U.S. National Hurricane Center. Lots of unpleasant weather had marked this year’s hurricane season providing great encouragement for storm hunters.

Prominent Climate Science Critic Investigated at Varsity

George Mason University officials have confirmed that they have started investigating misconduct and plagiarism charges that were made against an acclaimed climate science critic.
A letter dated July 28, 2010 written by GMU indicated that investigation proceedings against Professor Edward Wegman are going to be completed before the end of September.
In 2006, Professor Edward Wegman, GMU statistics professor spearheaded a crucial Congressional committee reports that was critical of the reconstructions of various past climate conditions by scientists, notably in 1999.

New program ensures e-waste is rightly recycled

More companies and recyclers continue to take steps of ensuring that TV and computers are not damped in poor countries. Basel Action Network is a Seattle-based group that has exposed the practice of electronic waste disposal into developing countries by the US.
On Thursday, this group launched a new program in which third party auditors are to certify recyclers who do not export hazardous e-waste.
These so-called eSteward recyclers are also going to agree that they will not damp any wastes in any US landfills as well as other criteria.

Immigration advocacy groups have started shifting their entire arsenal from the US Capitol and heading towards local communities, amid the continual waning of the prospect of US Congress carrying out a complete overhaul of immigration law.

California has a budget, the 100-day impasse A thing of the Past

California lawmakers were 100 days late, several billion dollars short in the coming year, and Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has hailed the budget created. The budget does not include any new fees or taxes except the public-pension as well as the budget reforms that the governor had sought.
Schwarzenegger, a renowned Republican, leaves office in January owing to term limits. He said he is going to use his own line-item veto in efforts to cut the resulting additional $965 million. He was hoping to sign the budget after its passage in order …
