Finnish mobile phone company giant, Nokia, is to layoff 1,800 of its workers. While releasing a report on its net profits for the months leading to September of 529million Euros translating to $741 million or 471 million pounds, the company made the announcement. At the same period the company’s loss stood at 559M Euros.
Selling over 110 million phones in a year, Nokia remains the largest handset maker in the world and to add to its might has gone up by 2% from last year.

Israeli pressure group claims that Jewish settlers began constructing homes in West Bank since a building freeze expired. The group claims that the construction is at a faster rate than it was before.

Defending its people, the German government said persons interested should make a request for the service if they are to let Google continue with Street View. China’s economy growth has slowed down in the second quarter, raising concerns about the unsustainable rate at which the economy is growing.

Iran has received accusations that it’s trying to have banks set up secretly across Muslim countries such as Malaysia and Iraq for their alleged support in terrorism and Iran’s nuclear program, state US officials have claimed.
