Google’s mapping of borders dicey?

After the furore over parts of the Indian mainland being allocated to sub-continental neighbours on Google Maps, there is again a debate regarding accuracy after a Costa Rica-Nicaragua border dispute.
Google Maps has now been pulled into a controversy after a Nicaraguan general brought attention to a Google border map which he said was an ” after-the-fact justification” of a certain raid in a sensitive border zone.

Keith Olbermann sacking creating a buzz

After MSNBC peremptorily sacked star anchor Keith Olbermann for donating money to three candidates in the 2010 elections, there is widespread sympathy for him and more than 50,000 MSNBC viewers have thrown their weight behind him in a bid to put him back.

Johannes Mehserle verdict a mockery of justice

Oakland was tense after Johannes Mehserle, a former white BART police officer who shot down unarmed black youth Oscar Grant, got off easy with just a seven months sentencing to jail.
Johannes Mehserle was to be tried for murder but the case was watered down to one of involuntary manslaughter. Kung Fu Panda DreamWorks Animation Debut November 25

Cutting-Edge Vertical Turning Lathe Unveiled

DS Technology, Birmingham, has through a France-based group member, Berthiez, unveiled a vertical turning lathe (VTL) in its St. Etienne factory.
The VTL is dedicated to produce large work pieces by being programmed to milling and grinding capability, automatic pallet change, robotic tool exchange, among other cutting-edge features. The lathe is a welcome innovation in the aerospace industry as it can be used for turning jet-engine components as well as in the manufacture of wind turbines plus valve-production in the oil industry.

Accused Martial Arts Instructor Closes Down School

The Allied Gardens School of Martial Arts has been closed down by its owner, Eric Protas. This closure has occurred in the wake of a court case against the 38-year old martial arts instructor for sexually abusing a teenage boy who was a student at the Martial Arts School.
