Black Colleges to Increase Online Presence

Michael Hill needed a doctoral program that was flexible to let him work on full-time as a Lincoln University administrator; he chose an online degree course from another institution.
Having first hand experience, he is now trying an online program in Lincoln. It is among many black colleges yet to enter the lucrative internet education industry admired by many black colleges.

Risks Weighed in Liver Transplant

Those suffering from liver disease turn to living donors for survival, a controversial procedure,  since aiving person is placed at risk to save a life.
The procedure involves the taking of a part of a liver from a healthy person and transplanting it to a sick recipient, as the liver regenerates. With time the liver from both persons will be grown to normal size and will be dully functional.

One Person Arrested after Fatal Motorcycle Crash

The police in South Carolina have arrested a driver after collision with a number of motorists where five people lost their lives.
Four people on bikes and a car passenger died from the accident on a desert motorway East of San Diego on Saturday.
The motorcyclists were marking the 10th anniversary since the founding of their club.
The driver called Carlos Ramirez Bobadilla, 36, was arrested for drunken driving according to a police statement.

Francis Ford Coppola awarded by Oscar

In an LA memorable ceremony, God Father director Francis Ford Coppola received a lifetime achievement.
The best actors in Hollywood went to the event to see the filmmaker receive the Irving Thalberg Memorial Award.
Robert DeNiro recognized Coppola terming him as an inspiration and one of his biggest influences.
Accepting the price he said that he loved original Hollywood tradition and admiration of the Irving Thalberg tradition.

Viagra May Solve Heart Effects of Muscular Dystrophy

Ailing hearts have Viagra to think about before its use in fighting erectile dysfunction since it may help cure heart symptoms dystrophy, varied reports have suggested.
Tests done on mice which have similar conditions with Ducheme muscular (DMD) dystrophy showed that it could improve how the hearts works, Joseph Beavoa of the University of Washington and friends, from the University of North Carolina discovered.

‘Megaminds’, A DreamWorks 3D Animation comedy has retained its domination on top of the Box Office movie list. The film, which features Will Ferrel as a superhero has hit the 90-million dollar mark in its first two weeks of showing.

One Of Three Kidnapped Victims Found Alive in Suspect’s Basement

Sarah Maynard, a 13-year-old girl who went missing along with her mother, brother and a third woman, was found on Sunday in a basement, bound and gagged. The basement belonged to Matthew J. Hoffman who was taken into custody on Sunday after being apprehended at his Mount Vernon Home.

Three In FBI Custody Over Bank Robbery Incident

A bank teller working in Overland Park, Kansas City was kidnapped in the middle of the night and ordered by his assailants to open the bank so that it could be robbed.
The kidnapping, which happened in the parking lot of the teller’s apartment complex, took place in the wee hours of the morning.
The teller was then found the next morning by a fellow bank employee at around 7.30 a.m., tied to a chair inside the bank with only a bloody nose.

Facebook is Blocked In Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia joined the ranks of Pakistan and Bangladesh by blocking ‘Facebook’ in the kingdom. According to an official who wished to remain anonymous, the reason for the blocking of the social networking site is that the latter does not conform to Saudi Arabia’s conservative values. It had also crossed the line in what was morally unacceptable in the Arabic Kingdom.
