Four manufacturers of alcoholic energy drinks popular among college students were issued with warning letters from the Food and Drug Administration, terming the caffeine added to their beverages as an unsafe food additive.
According to Margaret Humbug, the FDA Commissioner, evidence has shown that the consumption of drinks that have a combination of caffeine and alcohol leads to alcohol poisoning, car accidents and assaults.
The letters give a 15-day period for the companies to reply and explain their strategy on withdrawing their products from the market or defend their products as harmless.

All the 27 member countries of the European Union agreed to a stable or partially reduced quota for bluefish tuna on Wednesday. This occurred ahead of a 10-day meeting of the International Commission for the Conservation of Atlantic Tunas in Paris. The agreement ended a protracted squabble between European Union fisheries Commissioner, Maria Damanaki, who was for a significant reduction and states opposed to the idea including France, Italy, Malta and Spain.

Security in German train stations and airports is being tightened as the country said it had proof that Islam Militants were planning attacks within the next two weeks.
According to Thomas Maiziere, the interior minister, details of the suspected plot were uncovered after mail bomb attacks were directed by Greek militants at Chancellor Merkel, among other prominent figures; as well as the fact that parcel bombs were sent to U.S. targets at the end of October.

Ronni Chasen, a 64-year old publicist in Hollywood was found slumped in her Mercedes near Sunset Boulevard with multiple shots in the chest. The incident occurred at around 12.30 am on Tuesday when neighbors say they heard gunshots and then found the car crashed into a light pole on Whittier Drive, just south of Sunset Boulevard.
This was a well-used shortcut that she presumably used to get to her home in West Los Angeles.
She was found struggling to breathe in the car but was pronounced dead on arrival at a hospital.

Iran’s biggest defense air drill which kicked off on Tuesday was marred by reports of unidentified foreign airplanes violating its airspace.
The spokesman for the exercise, General Harmid Arjangi stated that the planes were picked up on by Iran’s radar stations and observation posts during the drill which lasted five days. The drill is aimed at displaying the country’s ability to protect its nuclear facilities from possible attacks.
