Driving under influence, star of Partridge Family and teen idol of yesteryears David Cassidy was arrested in Florida. Cassidy’s Mercedes was impounded and he was given a DUI charge after reckless weaving in traffic that almose led to an accident. The Florida Highway Patrol maintained that David Cassidy was stone drunk on Wednesday, even as Cassidy later said the incident was blown out of proportion.

He told the police that he had just a glass of wine with his lunch, and then taken a a painkiller, but the breath test had another tale to tell. His blood alcohol level gave a reading which was much higher than the permissible legal limit of 0.08 and the fib was given away.

The Florida Highway Patrol said that an empty bottle of bourbon was found in a police search. The official web page kept mum about the incident, and mentioned instead his 1989 gig in Ukraine, which you can now check out on YouTube.
