For 2010, the ‘Daylight Saving Time’ (DST) for Americans and Canadians is set to end on November 7. DST is the practice of going fast forward in time. Do not get flummoxed, clocks in US and Canada are advanced temporarily so that afternoons get a larger share of daylight and the mornings get way less. DST is an energy conservation exercise where usually, clocks are advanced by about an hour at the onset of spring and are then adjusted backward when fall approaches.

So to all the queries about the change of time this fall, and Google searches for “When is DST in 2010″,clocks and watches can be adjusted come Sunday, November 7, 2010. You can fall back to regular time, labelled as Standard Time on 7.30 PM IST. This is the Standard Time, the designated hour at which officially, residents of US and Canada shall go back in time by an hour. The clock turning back will mean the morning gets back its hour-worth quota of daylight back from the afternoons

For those to whom this is a menace, the Daylight Saving Time routine begins again on March 14, 2011, so pack your holiday rucksacks and flee the country on March 13. Also note that respite from DST is also offered in Hawaii ,Arizona, the Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, Guam ,Northern Marianas and American Samoa where Daylight Saving Time is not observed. So now you know where to go for that holiday in US territory.
