Dino De Laurentiis Dies At 91:Loss Of The Oscar Winning Italian Producer

The Italian film producer and winner of the Oscar award, Dino De Laurentiis died at the age of 91 years in Los Angeles on Thursday as was revealed by the Italian media. The cause of the death was not known as his daughter Raffaella De Laurentiis announced the news of the demise to the world. He had produced almost close to half a thousand films which included “King Kong”, “Three Days of the Condor” and “Serpico”. De Laurentiis was behind the success of many Italian masterpieces which were done in collaboration like “La Strada” by Frederico Fellini. He received the Oscar award for this particular movie. Dino was forced to move to the United States in the 70s decade after his film studios failed in Rome. Following that, he also turned towards a series of huge international projects some of which led to be flops. He was also responsible for some of the very famous films. The famous remake of the film King Kong in 1976 led him to achieve the status of a legend. Some of his other films for which he gained recognition are “Orca”, a film about the killer whale. Many novels by Stephen King have also been adapted and made into movies. The sequel to the famous “ The Silence of the Lambs” and the recently produced “Hannibal” are also produced by this famous Oscar winner.
