Reports in Washington have shown that both the Republicans and Democrats are using the economy as a blame game on their rivals. The Republicans are asking those who do not like the way the economy is to blame it on president Barack Obama and all the democrats since they have been making it even tougher, as the November 2nd elections enters a month long homestretch. GOP is hoping to return its party again to power within congress. Past Republican Convention: Blame Game Continues Between Republicans and Democrats On the other hand, the Democrats are saying the Republicans brought about the financial meltdown and ensuing recession, asking whether the people want it to happen again. Their argument is that as rates of unemployment are high, bankruptcies and home closures continues to rise, if the GOP would succeed in their efforts to block financial and other bailouts in the auto industry, stimulus plans and others, the situation would worsen. The economy issue will be a dueling argument set to dominate the entire campaign in the four weeks remaining that will show just which side is believed. Since the Democrats are in power and hold both Senate and the House, they could bear a brunt because of a furor established because of an ailing economy. Each of the two parties has suggested that it has the key to not only fuel economical prosperity but also the future. Obama does take some credit for averting the dawn of a significant depression as well as for engineering the base of an expected recovery, something that millions are yet to see. Obama has blamed the economic downturn, the worst since meltdown of the 1930s on the era of George W. Bush policies as well as the intransigence of the republicans. In party rallies, the president claims that the Democrats have the knowhow “to clean up after their mess.” |
