The Jets picked up Braylon Edwards and Santonio Holmes for a reason and both the receivers delivered.
The Jets won the match against Houston and went to a new high of 8-2. Major contributions came from
the pair.
Edwards previously played for Cleveland. In the 2009 season, he was exchanged with two players Chansi
Stuckey and Jason Trusnik. Meanwhile the Jets acquired Holmes who used to play for Pittsburgh, for a
selection in the fifth round. Both the players fared pretty badly at the beginning of this season. Edwards
was suspiciously arrested for driving under influence. While Holmes could not sport the first four games
due to violation of the substance abuse policy of N.F.L. The Jets’ selection was under question. However,
under current circumstances, the results are by far good enough. In their last match, they together
made for 67.3 percent of passing offense. For the final drive, Holmes went for a straight grab set up by
Edwards and had a 42 yard reception. Edwards ranks first with total six touchdown receptions. Holmes
was of great influence in the four games where the Jets made a last second win. They were not counted
amongst those facing injuries or giving a below expectation performance. Last season, the team took
first stands in the league for its rushing offense. Whereas this time, the Jets are far less predictable and
for that, the defense has to have a better attacking strategy. The Jets are considerably improving and
last second win is becoming their style of the game.
