Embracing The Tea Party Ideal

There are two poles in the American paradigm of personal freedom. One advocates for citizens not needing the government while the other is for the government not needing its citizens. It represents the clash between Federalism and Capitalism and on each side; Liberals and Conservatives battle each other.

Tea Party Express

The American people voted to replace the Republicans with the Democrats who seemed to be better placed to uphold the principles enshrined in the Tea Party ideal; openness, change, fiscal responsibility and transparency. The republicans rubbished these values and found themselves kicked to the curb. Power and authority are loans given by the citizens, rather than possessions of Washington. Every two years, voters get the chance to award these two commodities to who they feel is fit to carry out their mandate; much like a teenager’s credit card being taken away for misuse.

The political process has become mechanical, with the cultural values behind them being pushed aside and the consequences ignored. Indeed many long-serving republicans are reluctant to let the advocates of the Tea Party ideal in office since it would be detrimental to the balance established by Washington incumbents.

Congress can be looked at as a repetitive Shakespeare tragedy where although the same script is in place, different characters are put in to try and change the inevitable outcome.

Americans now, however hope that the Tea Party ideal is ready to be embraced and change the script for good.
