EPA Investigates a Huge Explosion at Magnesium Plant

A huge explosion was reported in Venice, Illinois at a magnesium plant, where unbelievably no casualties were reported.

However, EPA inspectors are carrying out investigations on the matter to ascertain whether the incident has left other residual threats the environment in the neighborhoods, or even any of the workers in the plant.
EPA’s first investigation revealed there was no visible menace or hazard, although they were just at the initial stages, as a spokesperson, Maggie Carson revealed.

The city officials in the area were also trying to understand ifn the fire following the Monday Night blast threw any chemicals that might be a hazard at the Magnesium Elektron.

After the explosion has become a big blaze, the magnesium could not just be fought with water and sand had to be used to take it down. Also, a vast area was clouded by thick smoke that filled the sky for a couple of hours.

Tyrone Echols, the mayor of the area said that the city was opening its doors to any resident ready to leave their homes into the senior centers.
