Only a few of the clippings of Marty by Stoltz is available for the public as a part of the 25th anniversary celebrations of “Back to the Future” Blu-ray set. One such scene is where he sits before his future father. Stoltz role as Mcfly continued for five weeks in which he shot many scenes but Steven Spielberg, the executive producer, Bob Gale, the writer producer and Robert Zemeckis, the director of the movie did not like his comic timing and thus was replaced by Michael J. Fox. Stoltz enjoyed a decent acting career with “Mask”- his breakout film being released before “Back to the Future” and has been an active part ever since his role in “Caprica”. He was always considered to have the potential that would make him the greatest of actors of the stature like Sylvester Stallone as Axel Foley in the super hit movie “Beverly Hills Cop” and Tom Selleck as Indiana Jones. The clips that have been released do not contain sound and they are also color-corrected. But this version of the “Back to the Future” gives us an idea of being a pensive come to age movie than a rather frictional comedy. |
