In the BC God gave Moses the Ten Commandments, one was against adultery. In case that would be today, perhaps the rule would apply against Facebook. Facebook: New Curse in the Books of Adultery? That would have been the case if a man of God from New Jersey had his way. The socio-network is responsible for the breakup of so many marriages in his church over the last six months, the pastor explained. To solve the whole situation before matters get out of hand the pastor has given church leaders two options either to resign from the network or leave the church. He has also rescinded his former request to let congregants sign up with the network and sharing it as spouses; they should just give up altogether. He said the network has put the institution of marriage at risk as evident in the rise of marital issues and third parties to the institution. To show his seriousness on the issue the pastor plans to cancel his account from the network as a leader and show the way. He plans to advice married persons to stop using Facebook. He insisted that this was not an order to the congregants but a humble advice. The response has been good and encouraging so far and has promised to go on with the advice. Most of the people are ready and willing to agree with the pastor. The backbone and the basis of the argument are really strong. The tool has been and is open to exploitation by persons who break marriages. The last five years have seen growth of socio networks and most people subscribed to keep in touch with their friends and evidence has proved that marital issues have been raised from the network. Facebook is leading the park of people who are flirting and other things that have lead to the increasing rate of divorce. The pastor has made it clear that the advantages of Facebook are so many but the one disadvantage washes the advantages of the whole system. The Facebook office is yet to respond to the developments. |
