FBI holds Puerto Pico Police in a Big Anti-Drugs Arrest

United States federal agents have made huge arrests of 70 plus Puerto Rican authorities on charges related to drugs. In all, 120 and more individuals faced the charges, a number that includes soldiers and prison guards.

Attorney General Says Operation Shows Government's Commitment

The United States department of justice was quoted as saying that the arrests were after the worst and largest of police corruption related investigation in the entire history of the Federal Bureau of Investigations.

To round up all the suspects, 750 agents belonging to the Federal Bureau flew to United States territory in the Caribbean.

The department of justice claim that in total, the number of officials of law enforcement detained stands at 89, with 60 of these being from the police department of Puerto Rico, police officers of the municipal at 16 and 12 prison officials. Others who were arrested in the raid were three nation guard soldiers of Puerto Rico, 30 civilians and 2 army officers of the United States.

The resultant raid, attack and charges were based on the work of about 125 undercover transactions of drug related cases conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigations in the US Caribbean territory.

A good number of the police officers detained were charged with the provision of armed escort security for dealers of cocaine with the returns being cash.

Attorney General of the United States, Eric Holder said that the department of justice’s commitment towards removing and rooting out alleged cases of corruption in the ranks of law enforcements of the country is strong and keen as ever.
