2010 World CupOne of the most debated elements of football is once again on the FIFA agenda. The controversial issue about introducing goal line technology continues. This would allow replays to be able to help with the difficult calls. Too often there are upset fans and players due to what the referee decides. According to the Chief of FIFA, Sepp Blatter, this type of technology would take away from the purity of the game.

This is one of the biggest reasons why so many don’t want to have the goal line technology entered into the game. They don’t want game delays either due to the video replay process taking place. They are in agreement with having additional officials eyeballing the crucial goal line area on the field though.

Another suggestion is place a chip into the balls used for the game of football. Then the referee would get a signal should that ball end up crossing the goal line. In light of what recently occurred during the World Cup, many believe that the use of goal line technology is necessary. It will help to eliminate those controversial calls once and for all.
