In this moment Chris Dudley has 47 percent and John Kitzhaber only 40 percent of the votes according to a survey done in June 9 of 566 voters by SurveyUSA. The Republicans fight to end a long failure tradition of losing 6 elections in a row, but the Democrats questioned several aspects of the poll. It is an encouraging result for Dudley’s team, with a great chance to win, but they know that the competition will be very difficult. On the other side Derek Humphrey observed that only 35 % of participants revealed themselves as Republicans and 38 % were Democrats and this is a reason why they can’t trust in the accuracy of the survey. However it look like they are not surprised to have a close competition with a strong opponent. Dudley won more votes outside the Portland region. He also leads among men and voters over 50.
